Its waves cover the ruins of an extinct civilization that died out 1,000,000 BBY. Most of its land mass is located at the equator in the form of archipelagos. In addition, there are two small mountainous continents. The planet has no moons but a set of rings orbit the planet. A standard day on Jerrilek is relatively short, and so its inhabitants have adopted a sleeping system in which they only sleep every other night.

Originally an unspoiled world with a wide array of flora and fauna, Vulpter was transformed over the millennia into a massively polluted globe covered in waste and factories. This means that the planet is now unable to sustain itself in terms of agriculture, and is thus entirely reliant on importing foodstuffs from other worlds. Vulpter is a noted producer of starships, and is home to one of the galaxy's largest podracer factories. Several corporations, such as Viper Sensor Intelligence Systems and Arakyd Industries, operate facilities on this planet.

A frozen ocean world in the Deep Core, Ojom is the homeworld of the Besalisk, a four-armed species. Because of the oceanic nature of the planet, Besalisks survived by creating a commune upon the many glaciers adrift on the world's oceans. Despite the several separate communities, the planet is sparsely populated. Many space stations orbited the world, and the populations on these stations actually exceed that of those communities planetside. The stations fill the role of starports for the planet, and accommodations there are much more hospitable than those on Ojom.

Early in the planet's history, Prakith was a volatile, volcanic world, but was stable enough for exploration. Prakith's close proximity to the Galactic Core makes it a prime location for a hidden redoubt, and was one of the first Deep Core worlds to be civilized. It has a strong Mining Guild presence. Prakith's major cities are built atop the planet's large plateaus, surrounded on all sides by great caverns and crevasses. Since ground travel across such terrain proves difficult, natives often use cloud cars and airspeeders for transportation. The world is ruled by dictatorship and trade/mining based.

Brentaal IV, known more commonly as Brentaal, is a planet in the Brentaal system of the Core Worlds's Bormea sector and one that occupies what was arguably the most valuable location in the entire galaxy: the intersection of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route, two of the galaxy's major hyperlanes. The fourth planet in orbit around the star Brenta, Brentaal has two moons and is located in the Ringali Shell, a string of star systems along the Perlemian that were near the Ringali Nebula. An arid world with warm and temperate weather, Brentaal features two large polar caps and an equator marked by deserts and steaming oceans; most of the planet's available land is dominated by warehouses, cargo holding facilities, commerce exchanges, and other trade-related structures. Brentaal's capital of Cormond and its Trade Hall are the seat of power on the planet, with the hundreds of Brentaal Houses—the influential families that run the planet's trade guilds—representing the citizens in Brentaal's democratic government.

Coruscant, originally called Notron, also known as Imperial Center or the Queen of the Core, is a planet located in the Galactic Core. It is generally agreed that Coruscant is, during most of galactic history, the most politically important world in the galaxy. At various times, it is the capital of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Yuuzhan Vong empire, the Galactic Alliance, very briefly the Fel Empire, Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire, and the Galactic Federation Triumvirate. In controlling Coruscant, these governments control most of the galaxy in the process. Over the centuries, Coruscant has developed into an ecumenopolis, with a total of 5,127 levels of city built up from the crust by the time of the Clone Wars. The actual planet-wide metropolis of Coruscant is called Galactic City. Under the Galactic Republic, the names Republic City or the City of Spires are also used to reference the city. It is also called Imperial City under the Galactic Empire, and New Republic City under the New Republic. However, in practice, Galactic City and its other names are sometimes applied to the Senate District, the central government center and de facto capital of Coruscant. Under the Yuuzhan Vong, the city and planet are both referred to as Yuuzhan'tar.

Historically, Kaikielius is a rural and pastoral world, with the planetary capital based at Kesipli. The planet is heavily-urbanised after 5000 BBY in a desperate attempt to compete economically with the Koros Major system, and becomes known for poverty, pollution, and urban decay. "Ring-cities" develop as mayors walled-off city centers in an effort to contain crime while construction continues to expand in concentric rings of development.

Famous natural landmarks of Alderaan included the Cloudshape Falls and the Isatabith rainforest. A variety of grapevines grow on Alderaan, which notably allow them to produce Toniray and emerald wine. The local fauna includes the Alderaanian wolf-cat and a species of white-winged bird. The cities on Alderaan are carefully designed to respect the natural beauty of their environment. For example, the palace of the royal family and the city around it blend into the local snow-capped peaks. Tyed Kant is an inhabited gas giant in the Core Worlds, near Demophon. It is the only planet in the Kantel system. Tyed Kant has a small habitable zone in the upper atmosphere where the air is breathable. This discovery leads to the manufacturing of floating ranches, supported by repulsorlift generators, to take advantage of the fertile atmosphere. These floating ranches cover half the visible surface of the planet. Even in the habitable zone, Tyed Kant's atmosphere contains a mix of many elements. The result is a breeding ground for bacteria and disease. Because of this, environment suits are recommended at all times, despite the air being capable of sustaining humanoid life. The most visible native species are the Iagoin, semi-intelligent creatures that float among the gaseous clouds.

Positioned on the Perlemian Trade Route immediately Rimward of Coruscant, Alsakan is a heavily-urbanised planet that has been a regional power broker for millennia. A Core Founder, it is considered part of the Arrowhead, the triangle of ancient systems at the head of the Perlemian and the Corellian Run that grows out of the Tetrahedron in the earliest days of the Galactic Republic.

Demophon is a planet in the Core Worlds, the primary planet of the Demophon system. The planet has two continents, Junno and Klis in a vast ocean. It is named for Alres Demophon, one of the founders of the Republic Scout Service. Demophon is a heavily industrialized world, containing many industrial complexes due to the abundance of uncommon resources. Prior to its ultimate destruction during the Galactic Civil War, Demophon's sun was unstable and approaching supernova. The resultant radiation requires all cities to be completely covered by transparent domes made of a neutronium alloy. Stripped of its ecosystem , the planet is a barren wasteland. Outside the cities, the temperatures ranged from 35 degrees Celsius to as low as 40 degrees below zero.

An aquatic planet, Pria's temperate oceans are inhabited by several different species of sentient beings, with the Priapulins dominating the food-chain. Forming a symbiotic relationship with the crustacean-like Crast species, the Priapulins have a society based on peace and mutual respect. Orbited by a single moon, the planet experiences two tidal cycles each day, with each tidal hour equal to ten standard hours. Suffering from tectonic activity, the planet's landmasses are constantly moving and changing shape causing violent shifts in global temperatures as more volcanoes emerged. As a result it is estimated that the planet undergoes an ice age every 10,000 years.

Columus is a planet in the Columus system of the Core Worlds and the homeworld of the Columi species. A planet with extremely low gravity, Columus is geologically stable—a property that prevents the formation of mountains, rifts, or other similar geographic features, and gives the planet a low atmospheric pressure. As a result, Columus is a flat, muddy planet with weak winds and a shallow soil layer. Because of the lack of erosion, water has settled into the soil, though the bedrock of the planet has relatively few cracks. Despite this, the plant life of Columus develops in an immense variety. The planet's larger plants and trees develop root systems that extended horizontally through the soil, covering wide areas and providing themselves a solid support structure. Columus is covered by swamps and forests, and the cities of the Columi, among them Bailee, rises above the treetops on pylons and are dependent on heavily automated factories.

Fresia is the second planet from the star Fre'ji in the Fre'ji system of the Torranix sector in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy. Located between Galand and Cal-Seti on the hyperlane known as the Agricultural Circuit, it is a terrestrial world 10,308 kilometers in diameter, with a breathable atmosphere and standard gravity. As a result of extremely slow axial rotation, Fresia's day lasts 528 standard hours, while its year lasts 132 standard days. Fresia has seven moons, which produce complex and extreme tidal cycles. The world's climate is temperate but varies wildly, with violent storms occurring often, and its mean temperature is cool. The planet features oceans, and its terrain includes rocky islands and fractured archipelagoes. Fresia features an abundance of indigenous wildlife, including the Coromon headhunter, but reptiles and amphibians are rare due to the climate. The world serves as the headquarters of Incom Corporation. The Galactic Empire brings in many nonhuman slaves to work for nationalized Incom, most of whom lived on the Coromon Islands.

Galantos is the second planet in the Utos system on the Widek Bypass, near the Koornacht Cluster. Its first contact with the galactic community is quite ancient, as at least one Fian serves as a Jedi 500 years before the First Great Schism. The planet's surface is covered in smooth, pale green gelatinous bodies with continental islands. During large storms, the surface of Galantos rolls and shifts. Because Galantos' crust is severed into drifting tectonic plates, the islands are wracked with regular seismic vibrations known as gelquakes. Like many other planets in the Farlax sector, Galantos is rich with chromite deposits. The gelatin is an organic substance which provides life-giving nutrients to all life on the planet, including the indigenous sentient Fia. To protect their cities, the Fia build reinforced structures and have developed a transportation system built on balloons to avoid groundquake-sensitive roads. Despite their ingenuity, the Fia prefer the gelatin and only take to the landmasses to interact with outsiders. Most non-Fia live in the capital city of Gal'fian'deprisi where the planet's major starport is located. It is there that the Black Hammer Pirates have their headquarters.

A highly industrialized world, the towers of Balosar rose so high that light could not penetrate deep enough to reach the surface. The suffocating amount of air pollution was so dense that the air was barely breathable, forcing the native Balosars to adapt to filter out poisonous substances from their bloodstream. Under the surface of the planet, the crust was pocked with cave systems which protected the balo mushrooms from the polluted surface.[1]

Despite Abregado-rae's temperate climate, there is a very limited number of native species present, with less than ten species of large animals native to the planet. These includes two species of sentient beings: the tall, lanky Gados, which form the majority of planet's native population, and the small, low-intelligent Moochers (said to be related to the Atzerrian Meeks). Unlike most Core Worlds, Abregado-rae is fairly backward, to the point of being compared with worlds in the Outer Rim Territories. The planet's spaceports seem safe, at least to the untrained eye, but in fact are known as a smuggler's paradise.

The planet had many popular establishments including the LoBue Cantina, Lost Loves Casino, Njinska's Tavern, Starlight Theater, The Star of Chance, and the Triple Nova Casino. These were located in either Abregado-rae Spaceport or Le Yer, both of which attracted visitors from all parts of the galaxy (including Han Solo and Lando Calrissian on occasions). The city of Le Yer was a popular coastal resort, with its extension, Phyrstal Island accessible by hydrobikes or floatboats.

Abregado-rae was also one of the few planets where the rare metal electrum was found. It was known to occasionally bubble to the surface in the Gilt Gushers. This mineral could be used for crafting lightsabers with many unique qualities; Darth Sidious and Mace Windu both possessed lightsabers containing electrum.
A common song around the galaxy called "Calypso" can trace its origins back to Abregado-rae.[4]

Velusia is located in the Velus system of the Core Worlds, at the coordinates L-9. It is the second planet from the star Velus and has two moons. Most of Velusia's surface is covered with salty oceans. The only landmasses are scattered, rocky, and largely volcanic islands in the equatorial regions. The land is unstable, wracked by groundquakes and volcanic activity. Numerous coral atolls are present in shallow water near the islands, and the oceans are covered in ice near the poles. Velusia's oceans are rich in suspended ores. Velusia is the homeworld of the near-Human Aquar. The oceans support plankton, algae, and fish, while the rocky islands support lichens, small shrubs, and avians. Due to the land's rocky terrain, most of the planet's food is imported, although a major export is fish. Mount Hollow is the planet's largest city and the location of its only starport.

Large tracts of shabby, toxic, extremely poor regions, as well as heavy industrial areas, lay between these stratablocks. To compensate for the overcrowding, over 1,000 floating cities were created for the rich. These cities were designed to resemble the magnificent floating cities of Ithor, though the design is considered by many to be blocky and ugly.

Its surface has vast bodies of water and is covered in snow-capped mountains, with patches of green grassy hills. Alderaan is known to the galaxy as "the planet of beauty." Famous natural landmarks of Alderaan included the Cloudshape Falls and the Isatabith rainforest. Alderaanian architecture made use of white synthstone, which inspires the architecture of certain mining economies of the Outer Rim Territories, like the floating colony of Cloud City, and the planets Lothal and Garel.

Caamas is a temperate, hospitable world of jungles, marshes, steppes, and rolling hills. Its dense rainforests and jungles teeming with life.

Galantos

An almost untouched world in the Koornacht Cluster, J't'p'tan (known to most simply as Doornik-628E) is settled by the H'kig, fleeing a conflict on Rishi. The planet is named after four sacred glyphs: "Jeh" (the Immanent), "Teh" (the Transcendent), "Peh" (the Eternal), and "Tan" (the Conscious Essence). Only the last of these glyphs is considered secular enough to be spelled out fully.

The planet's near-Human inhabitants, the Ensos, have built cities by chiseling them into the ice. Because the open ground on Ensolica consists entirely of coniferous forest and tundra, which is an entirely unworkable soil, Ensos are experts at hydroponics and constructing vast greenhouses in the ice. Because of their expertise in this field, Ensolica attracts the attention of corporations such as Alderaan Biotics and Tusus Comestibles.

The brutal, xenophobic Yevetha are the planet’s only sentient species, although other native species such as the siringana are equally merciless and brutal. Giat Nor is the capital city of both N’zoth and later the Duskhan League. The planet is the headquarters of Nazfar Metalworks.

Balosar is a planet in the Core Worlds, and home to the Balosar species. It is a polluted, poverty-stricken world of grimy factories and downtrodden people, and a place where tourism is discouraged. Such an environment encourages many of the native Balosars to become criminals.

One such farm is owned by Condren Foreck, a potential suitor to Lando Calrissian. The planet plays a minor part in the Yuuzhan Vong War as a base for the New Republic/Galactic Alliance. After the war the Galactic Alliance abandons the base. It is never a part of the Alliance until after the war. The planet turns out to be valuable during the Second Galactic Civil War.

Abregado-Rae

Dentaal is a planet in the Core Worlds. Its main city is Calif City. It is ruled by the House of Dentaal until Imperial Governor Taliff disbands it; after they form the DIP and overthrew him, Crix Madine's Storm commandos wipe out much of the rebellious population by introducing the Candorian plague, which breaks out in Calif City and spreads over the entire Kindelian continent, killing over 10 billion people and eventually wipes out every single inhabitant on the planet. During a series of military manoeuvres on the planet, Madine simply disappears from the Imperial armed forces. The Empire later blames the plague on the Alliance. The Alliance, however, discovers that the plague is similar to a plague that is unleashed on Sedesia.

Most of the planet consists of rocky, rugged, and inhospitable mountains, with the occasional hill, plain, or valley. The bodies of water that pass for oceans are a pair of large seas of a murky mustard-brown color, a result of the heavy mineral sediment. The world has one city, Belgar, and several large scrapyards. Astrophysically, the planet orbits a binary sun. Matanya A is an orange sun while Matanya B is a smaller yellow sun. Two moons orbit Belgaroth: Tregan and Tyrel. The only other notable satellite is a small repair yard that can barely accommodate an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

The planet is originally known by the name Dahrtag. However, after the planet and its surrounding system is opened up to the rest of the galaxy, the name Necropolis is coined by many visitors in reference to the Necropolitans' reverence for their dead. Over time, the original name of Dahrtag is all but forgotten and remains only on military starcharts.

Atrisia (also called Kitel Phard) is an ancient planet with a widely varied ecosystem. The planet is governed by a planetary empire, and has been overseen by more than fifty-six Emperors in its history since the Kitel Phard Dynasty is founded in 25,200 BBY. These Emperors maintain control through the Yovshin Swordsmen and later the Atrisian Assault Corps; at Jar'Kai, the Yovshin Swordsmen develop Jar'Kai swords of galactic fame. The fifty-fourth Emperor, Uueg Tching of Kitel Phard, is made famous for this oft-referenced quote recorded in the Sayings: "There are three ways to defeat your enemy. The first, and most obvious, is to better him in a trial of force. The best way is to have him destroy himself…The middle way is to destroy your enemy from within."
